Giving Priorities

Support one of our three giving priorities: Our senior Residents right here at home at Kāhala Nui or Live Well at Iwilei, our Associate employees, or our community outreach program. Designate your gift to a specific program or purpose, or support Kāhala Nui where we need it most through our Greatest Need Annual Fund. Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated. Learn more about our giving priorities below.

Greatest Need Annual Fund

Your gift to our Greatest Need Annual Fund supports Kāhala Nui’s top priorities throughout the year. By entrusting us with a gift in this unrestricted category, you empower us to respond to issues and opportunities across campus—whatever they are and whenever they arise.

Examples of these gifts at work include

• increased financial aid for residents who outlive their resources;
• upgrades to maintain campus facilities that make senior living accessible;
• support for Associates to train and specialize in dementia care; and
• budget flexibility to respond promptly to unanticipated events or opportunities.

Senior Residents & Adult Day Care Programs

You can make a difference in the lives of Kāhala Nui Residents and seniors in the greater community. Through your generosity, the Foundation provides benevolent support to Residents who have outlived their resources, ensures the highest quality care is sustained at Hi’olani Care Center and supports life enrichment activities for Residents and Live Well members.

Associate Support Program

The Foundation provides different ways to support Associates, such as scholarships, job training and opportunities to show your gratitude. Some of the past scholarship recipients have become trailblazers in their families, being the first to pursue higher education.

Outreach Program

Since 2010, Kāhala Nui has supported six local community partners who share our mission of serving seniors in Hawaii. Our partners include Alzheimer’s Association Hawai‘i, Catholic Charities Hawaii, Kōkua Kalihi Valley, Hawaii Meals on Wheels, Palama Settlement and Project Dana. An annual collective donation is made from Kāhala Nui, our Residents and Associates to raise awareness of the prolific work and services that are provided to local seniors across the state and to connect our Residents through engagement opportunities with the community.
