Associate Support Programs

Our Associates are our lifeline to making Kāhala Nui a success. We have 300 Associates who work around the clock 365 days a year as nurses, housekeepers, dining servers, maintenance workers, transportation drivers, concierge, first responders and more. We strive to invest in our Associates by providing annual training and professional development, access to apply for scholarship awards and an opportunity for Residents to show their appreciation during the winter holiday season.

Scholarship Program

The Kāhala Nui Ao Scholarship Fund was created in 2006 by Residents who wanted to support Kāhala Nui Associates and their children in pursuit of higher education. Since then, we’ve been committed to investing in future generations and supporting our staff in the spirit of ‘ohana. Students are in studies including nursing, psychology, business administration, art and civil engineering. Scholars attend both in-state Hawaii schools and continental U.S. institutions. They are pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees, and many are first-generation college students. Kāhala Nui and its residents are proud to encourage individuals’ pursuit of life-long learning.

Training & Education Programs

The Foundation seeks your support in training and education opportunities for Associates, such as certification in specialized dementia care or nursing education and continued professional development in hospitality and leadership training.

Associate Appreciation Fund

Residents of Kāhala Nui express their gratitude for the dedication, kindness and care shown by Associates through the Associate Appreciation Fund. For more information on how to participate, contact the Foundation office or the Vice Chair of the Resident Association Council.
