HONOLULU (DRAFT) – Hi‘olani Care Center at Kāhala Nui was recently recognized as a 2024 recipient of the Excellence in Quality Award, presented by Mountain Pacific. This recognition highlights Hi‘olani’s commitment to providing high-quality care, with a focus on preventing infections, reducing hospital readmissions, and improving vaccination rates for influenza, pneumococcal, and COVID-19 vaccines among its residents.

The Excellence in Quality Award, given annually by Mountain Pacific, honors healthcare facilities for their commitment to providing quality care. Hi‘olani Care Center’s selection also included recognition of its overall 5-star rating and 5-star Quality Measure rating.

(Honolulu, Hawaii) – Mountain Pacific is proud to announce the recipients of the 2023 Nursing Home Quality Awards. This year’s award criteria were based on a quality measure point system that included decreasing adverse drug events, preventing infection, decreasing readmissions, improving resident vaccination rates for influenza and pneumococcal vaccines and a bonus category that acknowledged nursing homes that were never referred to Mountain Pacific from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for COVID-19 outbreak.

Eleven Hawaii long-term care facilities met these goals and will receive their awards in the coming weeks.

Four facilities will receive the Excellence in Quality Award, the top award:

• Hi’olani at Kahala Nui
• Lanai Community Hospital
• Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia

Seven facilities will receive the Achievement in Quality Award:

• Clarence T.C. Ching Villas
• Kulana Malama
• Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation & Nursing
• 15 Craigside
• Maluhia
• Kula Hospital
